Laura Linney is an American actress who is popular for her portrayal of powerful but fragile characters. In the summer, while working with her father's business, Laura Linney became fascinated with theatre. After that in her time at Brown University she studied acting and also at Juilliard School, after which, her career took off. Following her graduation at Brown University, she began making her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. Within two years of that, her first film came out and the following year, her debut on television. She has appeared on numerous stages, films and television programs since. She has won many awards during her professional career. This includes the four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards as well as three Oscar Awards nominations. In spite of all the recognitions and awards, stage is where she's at and she will continue to play on screen and stage.
