Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on 17 April 1972. Her dad, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local college. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry and she aspired to become similar to her father. In order to pursue her dream of acting, she decided to move to New York and try her acting career in the world of Hollywood. While appearing in Broadway productions, she also worked as a waitress. Garner was a small part in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she first came into contact with Scott Foley). Garner got her first big performance on the screen in "13 Goin' on 30", a romantic comedy highly acclaimed. She was a teen girl trapped inside the body of an adult. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to make the movie. They searched for new opportunities until Winick passed away in the year 2011. Garner was appointed ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. in the year 2009. Alongside promoting early education, literacy, as well as nutrition at a local level, the role of Garner involves promoting the literacy of all Americans. Garner was a member as a member of the board since 2014, has been an advocate for the cause of early learning. As a member of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) team of ambassadors for the program Garner has visited families on a regular basis to guide them in ways to inspire their kids to achieve.
